You must be a member of the Quail Valley Pool in order to register your
child to swim / practice with the team and every child swimming at the
practices MUST be a registered team member. This is due to Quail
Valley HOA liability.
The Mini
Marlins Program
Our Minis are the future of our team! It is now required that potential
swimmers try out. Chilren must be comfortable in shallow water
alone and be able to swim half the length of the pool (12.5 meters) non
stop. Try-outs will be Wednesday, June 13th at 10:00 am
and 5:15 pm. Please choose only one to attend. It will be the coaches' decision if the swimmer qualifies
to join the team.
Family Concession Stand
Support Fee
Instead of asking for donations before every home meet for items to be
sold at the concession stand, this year again asking family to
contribute a one-time $15 fee to e used by the team to purchase food
strictly for concession sales. (This fee does not apply toward
Friday potlucks, the waffle breakfast, or the team banquet, which are
team-only events that do not have food sales).
New
Team
Swimsuits
There will be a new suit this year. It is the Dolfin LTF Series "VERVE" style
no. 7112LTF (women's), 8110LTF (jammer) and 7114LTF (racer) in green/black (GVV). You will be able to try
on and order a suit at registration. Or you can go to Underwater Wear store located at 615 S. Frederick
Ave. Lower Level B & C, Gaithersburg, 301-527-8326.
Coaches
We're thrilled to welcome back Frank Barrett as our new Head Coach. We're also very pleased to welcome back
Assistant Head Coach Katie Krauss and newcomer Assistant
Coach Olivia Knight, who were both former QV Marlins swimmers!. We are looking forward to another
great season.
QV Marlins Google Group
We'll be communicating mainly through a Google e-mail group (you do not
need a Google e-mail address to join). If you have not yet
joined, the address is qvmarlins [at] googlegroups.com.
It is very important that you join so that you don't miss out on any of the team events.
Volunteers
All team parents must volunteer in order for our meets to run
smoothly and for our team to have a fun, memorabe season. We'll
have signups at registration, so bring your calendars! Look for an email
regarding Sign-Up-Genius for volunteering. This is a great tool to keep track of which positions need to
be filled for each meet. Again this year there will be SSL opportunities for MCPS students, 6th grade and
up,including assisting the Mini-Marlins and volunteering at mini-meets.
Restaurant
Nights
Fund-raising restaurant nights will be rescheduled for nearby
restaurants, with a percentage of sales going to the QV Marlins - dates
and locations to be announced.
Sponsorship
A letter outlining the benefits of being a team sponsor can be downloaded from clicking Sponsorship Form. -

We are always in need of trained officials - stroke and turn judges,
referees and starters. If you've already been certified, please
check the MCSL website to see if you need to re-certify this year, or
you may want to consider becoming certified for an additional official
position. Visit www.mcsl.org for more information.
